Conflict of Interest
What friends asked me to do with them tonight:
- Attend the last night of UP Fair
- Drink and be merry
- Hang-out
But the three invitations came from these three different group of friends with three different reasons:
- Eula, Xerlyn, Malou and Kim planned for UP Fair months in advance
- Marvin wanted a post-birthday reunion with the Wannabitches (it’s a stupid name for our group that I have to live with -_-)
- My high school best friend Aira said she misses me
And I also had really good reasons to accept all the invitations because:
- I want to make UP Fair my annual tradition and make up for not making it to last year’s fair (AND TONIGHT’S BANDS ARE AWESOME)
- It’s Marvin’s birthday, how can I say no?!
- I have a lot of making up and catching up to do with Aira (and she really, really, really wanted to go to UP Fair with me this year too)
What I should have done:
- Go with Eula and the rest of the gang coz I ok’d this event before the other two were planned
- Suggest to move the reunion on Thursday
- Jam with Aira on another night before Saturday of the week-long fair
What I did instead:
- Said yes to Saturday
- Said yes to Saturday after I suggested Thursday and cancelled at the last minute as if I was the one celebrating a birthday
- Said yes to Saturday so she could meet my other friends and I was too lazy and broke to go to 2 concerts
So:
- I didn’t reply to their messages
- I didn’t reply to their messages and rejected their calls
- I didn’t reply to her messages
I thought it was ok coz:
- Eula bailed out for work
- Marvin bailed out coz of the rain
- I am an abusive best friend who call things off for lousy reasons that’s why I had tons of making up to do with Aira
But:
- The others are still going
- Florence is still going coz drinking SHOULD always push through if hosted by her
- Aira is done putting up with all my shit
And now:
- Eula doesn’t seem to hate me but I don’t know with the others
- Florence hates me and the others
- Aira hates me
Meh. At least naka-5 KO ako sa Tetris Battle. Rank down man ako sa buhay, level up naman ako kay Mama kasi hindi ako nag-lamyerda. Pramis ko kasi sa sarili ko na hindi ko na sya gagalitin. Interests never go on conflict if you know your priorities.
Other highlights of my lousy life’s 49th episode of its 23rd season:
- Kid cousin is running for the Public Information Officer position in her elementary student council so I designed some campaign materials for her. She went home pissed after some schoolmates made fun of her pamphlets which appeared to ask for ₱10 per vote. Pitied her but I LOLed.
”Dapat kasi hindi mo na tinanggal yung mga tuldok! :((” She cried. LOLOLOL. - Helped a friend find a case study for her TV show. I had a hard time convincing my contact coz his agenda that they wanna feature is seriously illegal. When I finally told them that the contact refused an interview, they went over unexpectedly to personally talk to the case study. This made me regret ditching the concert, but I still managed to avoid them by lying about being away. They eventually found their way to the contact through these instructions I sent them:

Kagulat yung tawanan ng mga tsismo’t tsismosang naka-tingin pala habang nagrereply ako. It was then that I realized that I DID seem to give such lulzy directions kung hindi alam ng makakabasa yung pinaguusapan namin:))
Lesson learned from the “₱10” and “Spiderman” anecdotes: Waley, that’s why they’re anecdotes:)
